Stromboli

Jump to Recipe

Stromboli is a dish of Italian cuisine named after the volcanic island of Stromboli. It is similar to a rolled pizza or calzone, but instead of being folded, it is rolled before being baked. It usually contains ingredients such as cheese, salami, pepperoni, ham and other fillings that you can choose according to what you have at home, and then everything is wrapped in pizza dough.

On this occasion I used a very simple filling, but you can add olives, peppers, or green vegetables like broccoli, different types of cheeses, but I recommend that you only have to think about what fillings you use when you eat pizza in general and from there you can let your creativity flourish towards your Stromboli.

To prepare the dough, you can use this recipe HERE .

If at all possible, I advise you to use Parmesan cheese on top, you can use olive oil or even beat an egg with a little water and brush with this before, as it will help give color and texture to the dough on top.

If you ask me when you can enjoy this delicious recipe, the answer masy vary, because you can serve it as a snack, also as a main dish accompanied by salads if you are in summer or with a delicious soup if you are in winter.

Stromboli

The ideal scenario is to enjoy Stromboli fresh from the oven, it is a delight and a different way to enjoy pizza.

Stromboli

You can enjoy the Stromboli as is, or you can spread it with marinara sauce or another red sauce of your choice. It can be served warm or at room temperature.
