Tuna croquettes

I first published this recipe for Tuna Croquettes on this blog back in 2007. Now I’ve finally been able to update the photos, and I remembered how easy it is to make. I also remember that when I was a child, my mom used to make them at home. It was a practical and delicious way to complement a lunch. Some people make a sofrito beforehand, a mixture of onion and seasonings. But there’s also the option of making it without the sofrito and just making this mixture, seasoning to your liking.

In this recipe for Tuna Croquettes, I used only oregano, salt, and pepper, but you can also use paprika, parsley, and garlic if you like.

The croquettes should always be a manageable mixture so you can form a ball with your hands and then flatten it into the traditional shape. By forming the balls first, you can ensure that all the croquettes are equally even.

It’s so important to have a good frying pan. I have a couple that are nonstick, so they don’t require as much fat to cook. That’s why I used cooking spray for this recipe.
