No matter how easy a recipe is, in one way or another it always has some little techniques or details that differentiates it from others. Today I wanted to share with you a super popular salad in Chile, very typical to go with vegetables, barbecues, and any other traditional dish at lunch time. And this way we keep adding more posts about Chilean recipes to this blog.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 onion, cut in julienne
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
  • Oil and salt to taste

Instructions

  1. This first step is optional, but if you want to reduce the smell of onion on this salad, I suggest “blanching” the onion in hot water for a few minutes. For this, put the julliene-cut onion in a bowl, cover it with hot water for a few minutes, and then wash it under running cold water.
  2. Cut the tomatoes into pieces or slices, add the onion, parsley, and season with salt and oil to taste.
  3. Let it stand a few minutes, so that the tomato releases some of its juice.
  • Prep Time: 10 mins
