Earthquake cocktail

This is quite a special post for me, first of all because it is the first time I’m posting about a cocktail with alcohol. And even though I’ve been wanting to add this category to my blog since a long time ago, the right occasion hadn’t really come in order to materialize such plan.

And of course, since I am Chilean, I felt that I had to start this section with a cocktail allusive my native country. It’s been many years by now that during the celebrations of the national holidays in Chile as well as during the summer, the cocktail named Earthquake (“Terremoto”, as known in Chile) has been by far the most requested.

It is a very simple cocktail, but quite refreshing and powerful. Therefore I thought it was perfect for bringing to me the inspiration I needed to achieve the Earthquake 2.0, because I am very clear that in Chile this cocktail is actually prepared with “Pipeño” wine (an opaque-brown wine made of ordinary grape stock). But for those like me, who live outside from Chile, today I bring you an excellent alternative thanks to Sutter Home and their Chardonnay variety of wine.

Notice that Sutter Home is a family-owned winery that has created award-winning wines (which have received over 350 gold medals), seeking to produce quality products focused on families, especially because of their affordable product line.

Particularly with this Chardonnay I managed to get an exquisite version of this popular Chilean drink. And along with the pineapple ice cream and grenadine, I achieved a balance of ideal flavors that are fit for any celebration with friends and family during these days of summer.

How great it is being able to take a break and enjoy a totally refreshing cocktail!

I would like to mention that Sutter Home also offers other wine varieties, so keep that in mind so that you can enjoy wines such as: White Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Moscato, Pink Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sweet Red, Sauvignon Blanc, Red Moscato, Red Blend, and Sangria.
