Mama’s Best Ever Spaghetti & Meatballs with Melted Cheese

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Ragú® and Latina Bloggers Connect. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

In the daily search to find appropriate recipes for lunch or dinner for my family, I had this great opportunity to try one of the recipes from the Ragú® website and put my own spin on it. Using the Ragú® Chunky Tomato, Garlic & Onion Sauce, I added a special touch to the meatballs to surprise my kids. The mix between the cheese added to the meatballs along with the meat and sauce really resulted in a small feast worth repeating, and will most likely be added to the list of recipes that are easy and quick to prepare. When I prepared this dish for my family, one of my kids (who loves cheese… and meatballs!) got so excited when he saw such melted deliciousness coming out, that he referred to the meatballs and cheese together as an “atomic mix”, and he also wanted to swallow the whole plate with one bite. Biggest mouth I’ve ever seen! It was so hilarious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs. of lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup of Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 jar (24 oz.) of Ragu® Sauce
  • 12 ounces of spaghetti, cooked and drained
  • 18 small cheese squares

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, eggs and 1/2 cup Sauce in medium bowl; shape into 18 meatballs.
  2. Press the thumb on each meatball to create an inner space, then fill each meatball with a cheese square, and close the meatball by wrapping the cheese with meat. The cheese should melt when cooked.
  3. Bring remaining Sauce to a boil over medium-high heat in 12-inch skillet. Gently stir in uncooked meatballs. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes or until meatballs are done.
  4. Serve over hot spaghetti.
