Star Gazer, cocktail

In my effort of always trying to be a great hostess when I have guests, is that I’m always in the lookout for new flavors, not only in food but also in cocktails. Because when a Friday or Saturday comes over, there is nothing better than enjoying a good company with friends. Before I serve dinner to my guests we usually get started with some nice appetizers and a cocktail, and while attempting to stay away from the traditional is that I found this Star Gazer recipe, which is not only a tasty cocktail, but it is one of the most refreshing ones I’ve tried lately.

That is why this time I didn’t want to take any risks and I selected again a Sutter Home Chardonnay for this recipe, because it was ideal for the preparation of this cocktail. In addition, notice that Sutter Home is a family-owned winery that has created award-winning wines (which have received over 350 gold medals), seeking to produce quality products focused on families, especially because of their affordable product line.

Along with my friends from Chile and Argentina, during summer it is very common that we get together in our houses to cook some steaks on the grill, accompanied by our classic Chilean salads. Before starting the grill we always enjoy some preliminary cocktails, but during this past year we have been preparing basically the same cocktails as usual. And that is why Star Gazer was a success, as it’s common for us to celebrate with other liquors or just simply with red wine. But this time I was really able to surprise my guests, because (at least in our culture) we do not have a significant variety of drinks based in white wine, and even less with Chardonnay. And that’s what made this drink so interesting, that we could enjoy wine in a different way, very refreshing and that allowed us to try something new from what we usually drink.

I’d like to also mention that besides of being a quick and easy-to-make recipe, it is very convenient if you have many guests.
