About

Carolina Rojas

My name is Carolina Rojas, married to a wonderful Chilean man, and we have two little kids, Camila and Christian. Born in the city of Valparaiso, Cerro Alegre, Chile. I studied Hotel Management with a mention in Gastronomical Services, and Iโ€™ve been living in Atlanta (GA, United States)ย for several years already. And it was because of such physical distance with Chile that in the year 2006 I decided to create this blog, initially intended just for my family and friends, who always reached out to me to inquire about recipes. But as time went by the blog began to gain some audience, as well as my interest to continue improving my skills in everything that relates to the gastronomical world, and consequently this blog has been a constant incentive.

I got to say that this blog is mainly dedicated for those who are beginners in cooking, for housewifes, or simply for those who just want to venture once in a while to cook. Because of that is why I try to use a simpler language, so that the recipes are easier to understand.

Over the years the Chilean cuisine has taken my absolute interest, not only for me to present recipes on this blog, but also especially for those like me living far from Chile, who through the Chilean recipes we are able to bring a little bit of our homeland back, as well as the flavors of our childhood. And it’s through this same means that I’ve been able to reach other countries, other homes, and to new generations in a direct manner.

I always try to rescue the flavors of my beloved Chile, each recipe with its own touch, while at the same time sharing all the new flavors I have acquired since I live in this country.

I currently work in the development of new recipes for different companies, as well as an ambassador for some brands. This has allowed me to show my skills and my passion for cooking.

In the year 2015 I participated in several cooking workshops, and probably my greatest achievement at that time is that I got a certificate as a nutritional coach. Since I love cooking all kinds of things, I’ve been creating a lot of healthy content, which I expect to continue expanding every time more.

All the photos (the good and the bad ones) that you see on this blog have been taken by me, and are the result of the recipes that I share on this blog.

I hope you enjoy this space.

If you want to contact me, feel free to do so through the comments or contact page.

NOTE: some time ago I was interviewed by NBC Latino, and that interview (in English) says a lot more about me, so I’d like to share it with you on the following link: http://nbclatino.com/2012/10/24/food-blogs-we-love-mi-diario-de-cocina/
