Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fish fillets (I used mahi mahi, you can use another if you like)
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup of cream
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
  2. Pass the fish fillets through this mixture.
  3. In a frying pan melt the butter and add olive oil.
  4. Sauté the fish fillets for about 4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the fillets.
  6. Then in the same pan add the onion, cook for about 2 minutes, add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  7. Then add the chicken broth with the dissolved cornstarch.
  8. Add lemon juice, cream, thyme, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley.
  9. Stir slowly until you get a sauce-like texture.
  10. Always over low heat, add the fish fillets and let it cook for about 3 minutes before serving.
