It may also be the month in which we care the most about the decoration of our sweet recipes. It particularly causes on me a kind of warmth with a mixture of nostalgia, as my mother always prepared us sweet things, and also at the night of December 24th we always had a nice cup of hot cocoa with various sweet preparations, rather unusual, considering that at that time it was summer in Chile.<\/p>\n<p>Today I would like to share a very good alternative for the classic gingerbread houses, although I personally believe think should be called &#8220;holiday houses&#8221; instead. The good news is that you don&#8217;t have to do all the work to make the cookies, because you can purchase these delicious graham crackers from <a href=\"http:\/\/cbi.as\/1egn8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Honey Maid<\/a>, which were perfect to mold these little houses for Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>My kids were fascinated by this little village of graham crackers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Honey-maid-houses-village02.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8877\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8877 size-full\" title=\"Honey Maid houses village\" src=\"http:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Honey-maid-houses-village02.jpg\" alt=\"Honey Maid houses village\" width=\"700\" height=\"1050\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Honey-maid-houses-village02.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Honey-maid-houses-village02-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Honey-maid-houses-village02-683x1024.jpg 683w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a>Best of all is that these houses are usually loaded with many other sweets, which is why this time I wanted to bring a healthier alternative, that way adding richer and more nutritious ingredients, such as this delicious apple. In order to make it remain impequecable and stay on its color, I just had to slice it in julienne cut, and then put the slices in water with a little bit of lemon juice. Then, when we place them in the houses as part of their roof, we can brush them with a little bit of lemon juice.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Apples.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8881\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8881 size-full\" title=\"Honey Maid houses village - Apples\" src=\"http:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Apples.jpg\" alt=\"Honey Maid houses village - Apples\" width=\"700\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Apples.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Apples-233x300.jpg 233w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">In this occasion I visited Walmart, where one can find in the cookies aisle a variety of Honey Maid products. You can also find in this same supermarket all the extra ingredients necessary to build these holidays houses.<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Cookies-shape.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8883\"><br \/>\n<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8879 size-full\" title=\"Honey Maid houses village - Walmart\" src=\"http:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Product.jpg\" alt=\"Honey Maid houses village - Walmart\" width=\"700\" height=\"933\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Product.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.midiariodecocina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Product-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the left of the photo below is shown how I cut the graham crackers to give shape to the smaller houses. And right side of the photo is very simple, as only one cookie is used and you may decorate to your liking, being these ideal to wrap them in a plastic wrap and give them away at the kids&#8217; school. I used a simple icing to attach the graham crackers, and remember that in order to put them together you should wait at least 30 seconds before releasing them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
